Did the marketplaces pay me right?

Upload Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho settlement reports and see, order by order, what you should have been paid, what you were paid, and why the two differ.

What it is

Marketplaces pay you the sale value minus their fees, the GST on those fees, TCS, TDS and refunds. Their settlement reports list every one of these amounts. Flowgento reads the reports and matches each order's sale (from your GST filing packs) to what was paid, and lists anything that looks wrong:

  • an order still unpaid after the usual number of days;
  • a fee higher than the rate you agreed (your rate card);
  • the same fee charged twice;
  • a return charged for an item that never came back to you;
  • TCS or TDS that does not match your tax reports;
  • a payment with no sale, money held back as a reserve, or a bank payout that does not add up.

Steps

  1. GST tools → Marketplace payments. Drop in the settlement reports: Amazon's settlement flat file (.txt), Flipkart's payments report, Meesho's payments report.
  2. Pick the month the payments were made.
  3. Read the summary: gross sales → fees → GST on fees → TCS → TDS → refunds → net received → bank payouts.
  4. Read things to look at. Each one says, in plain words, what is wrong and how much money is at stake. Raise a ticket with the marketplace for the ones marked in red.
  5. Fill in your rate card (the fees you agreed) so overcharges are spotted. List the orders whose returned item never came back.
  6. Excel gives you the whole reconciliation. Post to the books (admin only) records the payouts, the marketplace fees with their GST credit, and the TCS and TDS you can claim back.

Rates built in

  • TCS by marketplaces: 0.5% of the net taxable value from 10 July 2024 (1% before).
  • TDS (section 194-O): 0.1% from 1 October 2024 (1% before).
  • GST on marketplace fees: 18% unless your rate card says otherwise.

Good to know

  • Not checked yet. These readers were built from the marketplaces' published layouts, not from a seller's real file, so check the totals against your bank statement. Send us one real report per marketplace through Help & support and we will confirm them.
  • The sale side comes from your GST filing packs for the payment month and the two months before it. Upload your marketplace tax reports there first.
  • Plan: the same limit as GST for online sellers. The Free plan allows 500 report rows a month from 2 marketplaces; paid plans have no limit.
