E-way bills
For goods moving on an invoice of ₹50,000 or more — transport details, the portal's bulk file, the number back, printing and expiry reminders.
What it is
When goods worth ₹50,000 or more (invoice total; the threshold is editable in Accounting settings because some states differ) move on an invoice, an e-way bill must exist before the vehicle leaves. Flowgento prepares the government offline tool's bulk file from the invoice, you upload it on the portal, and type the number back; it then prints on the invoice and the packing slip.
Steps
- On the invoice (a shop order's page or a manual invoice), the E-way bill panel appears when the total is at or above the threshold.
- Fill the transport details: transporter name and ID (GSTIN/TRANSIN), vehicle number (checked for the Indian format, e.g. MH12AB1234), mode, distance in km, document type, supply type; Part-B document number and date if the transporter gave one. Save transport details. Pincodes come from the invoice.
- Download the bulk JSON (or Excel). On ewaybillgst.gov.in: e-Waybill → Generate Bulk → upload the JSON → the portal shows the 12-digit number and validity.
- Record number with the generation date and valid-until. The invoice and packing slip now print it.
- Accounting → E-way bills lists invoices needing one, drafts, generated bills with validity, and a one-file bulk download for many invoices at once.
Validity
One day per 200 km (20 km for over-dimensional cargo), from generation. The page shows what expires within 24 hours; the daily email to admins lists expiring bills and invoices still missing one. An expired bill must be extended on the portal (within 8 hours of expiry) or regenerated.
Direct API
Generating straight from Flowgento needs a GSP registration and an API user on the portal — an owner decision. The adapter is in place but dormant; the five settings it needs are listed on the E-way bills page.
