The live demo shop

What the demo is, why nothing you do in it is saved, and how it goes back to the start every night.

What it is

Demo Marine Store is a shop Flowgento keeps so you can look around before you sign up. Its products (life jackets, ropes, deck shoes, torches and the like), customers and orders are all invented. The customers' email addresses end in .invalid and their phone numbers start with 90000, so nothing can ever reach a real person.

There are two ways in, both from the demo page:

  • The seller panel — press Open the demo seller panel. You are signed in as the demo shop's viewer and can open orders, inventory, counter billing, documents, accounting and the rest, exactly as a shop owner sees them.
  • The storefront — the demo shop as a customer sees it: categories, product pages, search.

Read-only

The demo seller panel is read-only. You can look at everything, but every change is refused with the message "This is a demo — changes are switched off." An amber strip at the top of each page reminds you.

A few areas are switched off completely, because in a real shop they connect to the outside world: payment keys, API keys and webhooks, the WhatsApp connection, communication settings, team, data export, billing and the CA pack.

The demo storefront cannot take an order either: online payment is not connected and cash on delivery is switched off for it.

Nightly reset

Every night at 03:50 (India time) the demo shop goes back to the same starting point: the same products, customers and orders, and anything else removed. The orders always stop at placed, confirmed or packed — a demo order is never shipped, because shipping raises a GST invoice.

Leaving the demo

Press Sign out, or sign in to your own shop — that replaces the demo session. To start your own shop, sign up free.

Common mistakes

  • "My change disappeared." Changes are not saved in the demo; that is on purpose.
  • "The demo says I am signed in to my own shop." The demo will not sign you out of your real shop behind your back. Sign out first, or use a private window.
